on sale.

sometimes the cheesiest lines make u cringe and wonder where the heck anyone found the stomach to even think this stuff up. Love cliches, motivational cliches, advertisement sales.
You roll your eyes at the 'last day of sale' sign but something compels you to walk into the shop. just in case.
You make your purchase, feeling pretty frikin proud of yourself for making a steal only to find the same 'last day of sale' sign still stuck on the window with the same cheap double-sided tape on the same tacky ready-made cut out bought from popular right where you saw it two weeks ago.

Sometimes we can't help it.
when someone says an old line, that you want so much to believe
you let slide all the disappointment you have faced, put in the same situation before,
only to get disappointed again. or in some cases proven right for letting your guard slide.

and then sometimes it's worth it.

but cliches are cliches because they work. because ... they have had genuine meaning before.
but they've become so overused that the follow through becomes less and less expected that the promising party never feels obligated to deliver.
how far we've come.

sometimes i reckon if we shut our eyes and follow our blind instincts, it might take us a lot further than we could ever go with our eyes wide open.

so I shut my eyes, click my heels and whisper, 'there's no place like home'.
